Nasty Women Art Exhibit has come to Rhode Island!
This is a group exhibit, hosted by Hera Gallery, that invites all female identifying artists to come togther as a show of solidarity against the attack on women's rights, and the rights of all people. Nasty Women RI is also a fundraiser to benefit an organization that serves to protect the rights of women; we have chosen Madre, an organization that helps women all around the globe fight for their rights https://www.madre.org/.

About the project
"Started in NYC by Roxanne Jackson and Jessamyn Fiore with a facebook post that read: 'Hello female artists/curators! Lets organize a NASTY WOMEN group show!!! Who's interested???:' The massive response has taken this call to arms into building an ever-expanding network of Nasty Women Artists & Art Organizers that will culminate in multiple exhibitions."

We will be holding an item drive for SC Domestic Violence Center during the show http://www.dvrcsc.org/how-to-help.
Old cell phones and New/or Gently used TWIN bed sheets. Note: Gently used sheets MUST be in a plastic bad per RI State Health Department regulations.

Meet Your Nasty Women RI Curatorial Team

Nycole Matthews is a Newport artist who renders comic book-style characters with infallible, diverse line quality.

Jackie Lemmon is an arts writer and painter new to Rhode Island. You can learn about her and the quirky world she's creating here.

Sharlene Santos is a feminist and social activist. She has organized local events for change such as sexual assault awareness.

Andrea Sepe
is a local RI artist specializing in dark,emotive graphite drawings. Learn more about this warrior artist here.
